  • New in Edinburgh

    Hi Guys,
I'm a student in the University of Edinburgh who decided to take up cigar smoking. It is an expensive habit, but luckily I'm better at saving than the average student. I recently bought a cabinet humidor because it's a nice presentation piece, and seasoned it. I only have about 10 cigars in there, but I ordered some more online. assuming that my collection will outgrow my cabinet in a while (I would say days if I had the money to buy as many as I wanted), I think I'll go with corridor for the remainder of my stock. I'll happily provide pictures when my humidor is properly stocked, but I doubt anyone wants to see it in its desolate state. I look forward to joining this community and having people to talk to about cigars since my peers have not developed the same interests as me.

feel free to ask me questions because I honestly do not know what else to write about myself.

    Welcome to the forum.

Even photographs of a small stock would be great. We can all watch as it grows and turns into something fantastic.
It would be nice to see the humidor too.

alright well since you guys insist. I got a Germanus Nemus humidor, and inside on the top left I have: two Partagas serie P No. 2, Cohiba Behike 52(I believe, it was a present from my Gf, and she didn't know whether it was a 52 or 54). top right consists of some cigars I got from Tenerife when I went late February; an El sito and a Convicto. I wanted to bring back a souvenir, but also didn't want the crap cigars sold in all super markets. I got the el sito and an El Lugar which I already smoked, from Osor II a tobacconist with a large walk in humidor, and the convicto, and no label cigars at the bottom of my humidor from a locals shop that had a small humidor. sadly cigar smoking culture seems to be dying out there.

As you can see I have a bunch of mini travel sized bovedas. I bought them because I wanted to store the cigars I got from tenerife while I was there, and they only came in a ten pack. I'll get larger ones when my collection grows. for now they seem sufficient

My humidor came with two crystal gel humidifiers. I thought I'd put them to use, so I fillied them with a mix of PG solution and distilled water to avoid mold, and I put bovedas ontop of them to regulate the humidity going in and out. whenever the bovedas get a bit full, I rotate them. what are your thoughts on this method? I might be going above and beyond, or too far. I'm not sure. thought it was a smart way to get my humidor to maintain itself for longer. would love some feedback

and thanks for the warm welcomes!
