Hello Ranks. Welcome along. As a relative newbie myself I can echo what's said above - try the cgars site to order a few various singles of pretty much anything, smoke these and go from there. A visit to a shop/lounge should then be next on your 'to do' list as the staff there will point you in the right direction for your next purchase(s) based on what you like.

And finally, this forum has been a fantastic source of info and guidance (plus they're a real decent bunch!).

I would recommend some Cuban petit coronas to get an idea of what you like and some non Cuban maduros, the search tools on cgars are very useful and if you search all cigars by lowest price you can try a lot of things for quite cheaply
