  • Hi there!

Been viewing here for a while and decided to register, I'm a relative noob as far as Cigars are concerned, but have smoked a fair number of Non cubans over the last few years back home.

I'm from Plano, Texas and really haven't had the opportunity to smoke more than a handful of Cubans so far. Those I've had I've really enjoyed.

I'm a sports and exercise medicine specialist, and am currently contracted to work in London thru August 2106, and hopefully longer.

I'm looking to learn a little more about Cigars and hope to pick up some tips and knowledge and maybe attend one of your 'herf' meets here in London sometime.

I've recently visited JJ Fox a recommended Cigar store in Central London (Wow, it's like a time machine) and on the recommendation of the guys there purchased a few cigars (a Montechristo Open, a 3 pack of Romeo Wide Churchill and a 5 tin of H Upman half coronas) which I'm planning to try with some colleagues this weekend.

Hope I've made some good choices!!! I'm keeping these in a large zip lock baggie, but thinking I may have to invest in a little humidor to get started right.

    Thanks for having me here!

Hello Doc. Welcome to the UKCF. It sounds as though you've had very reasonable foray into the currently forbidden fruits for our U.S. BOTL. I'm sure you'll get some herfing opportunities in Londinium

Welcome aboard Doc! Hope you enjoy your year in London, as you've already found out it has a few gems for the cigar smoker.

We've all got a vast amount to learn! It's the joy of things I think - there's always something new or different to think about. Good bunch here though, bringing different ideas and knowledge sets to the show.

Welcome aboard Doc, nice start to your collection. Remember, if you're buying a humidor, buy one bigger than you think you need
