  • Hello everyone

Hi guys, thank you very much for having me.

I am 47 years of age and up until two days ago had never smoked a Cigar, however after my first I want more!

My friend recently had his first child and and I was round at his for the night for something to eat and a drink, I had bought a packet of Cigars for a few $$s from Walgreens and took them with me.

I had no intention of having one, but sitting in the shed with a glass of Highland Park in hand, the log burner at full chat while listening to the rain hammer of the roof it seemed like the right thing to do.

A most pleasant experience was to follow, the process of lighting up then puffing away and savouring all the tastes and aromas was a totally unexpected pleasure. I was happy to enjoy it and the malt with my good friend.

Suffice to say I'm now on the hunt for some more information about what comes next, I have a traditional Tobacconist nearby in Paisley which I have been in numerous times to purchase empty boxes for projects, however I have never even looked to see what is on the shelves.

Hopefully I will become part of the forum, which I have to say the bits that I have read have been brilliant, so thanks again and best wishes.

Welcome to our obsession Roy, you had me confused for a minute there with your talk of $$ and Walgreens, thought you might be onn the other side of the pond rather than the otehr side of the wall!

Yes, sorry about that! I have just re read my post, so for the avoidance of doubt I'm a Scotsman who bought a packet of supermarket Cigars on Holiday in Vegas and smoked his first one in Greenock! I hope that makes sense [emoji3][emoji3]

                      Thank you for having me.

I have a read a few posts over the last couple of days and this seems to be the kind of Forum that would appreciate more than a quick 'hello' particularly if I want to be part of an existing board and no doubt ask for some help, I think it only fair people know a bit more than just a user name.

                      Cheers.

That's what I thought, I realise they are not the best quality and after spending some time here I am REALLY looking forward to trying some thing else. I was talking to a friend about this and never mentioned the type of Cigars we smoked, he asked 'Cohiba or Rome & Juliet' which meant nothing to me (it does now). When I told him he burst out laughing, so yes yes hopefully some good times ahead.

                        Cheers.

Great observation Roy It is a funny concept the cyber-world, but social convention remains and it's positive to have new members come in the front door and say hello before they run 'round the house There are some great lads on here and I'm sure you'll be warmly welcomed.
