I got into cigar collecting after my sister went to Cuba and bought me back a box of MC4s many years ago.

Got into collecting buying online from various sources. Stopped and wound down the collection for a few years as it was becoming a bit of a habit. Starting to get back into it again in a more controlled way, having a humidor cabinet made for the collection. A friend went to Cuba recently and at my request bought back a 25 box of CoRos and 20 Siglo VIs. They're sat in my large cooler box with 65% HF beads. I've also suffered from mold in the past but that was when using 70% beads hence on the 65% now.

Wondering whether I should have frozen them after reading about cigars direct from Cuba and beetles? I would worry about the wrappers cracking from the freeze thaw? And flavour being imparted from food already in the freezer? Any thoughts? Also is there a consensus on a good inexpensive hygrometer? My old ones seem to be shot!

    Welcome along

By all accounts you should freeze any cigars bought in Cuba as only the exported ones are frozen by HSA

I just got back from Cuba myself, and all the boxes I brought are currently either in the freezer... Not taking any chances!
