'E Mids chap with burgeoning cigar obsession WLTM co-conspirators!'
Love a Cuban robusto when funds permit, to the point of getting through more than 30 on a two-week honeymoon in Cayo Coco ('darling, you'll LOVE Cuba...') though I'm finding the Chinchaleros a decent-ish budget replacement.
Also partial to a Bolivar 3 for the post-work wind-down, and the La Rica tubitos for passing round or a swift toot in a beer garden.
    Greetings!

    Welcome friend.

Chinchaleros are a good NC, but Jose la piedra's can be found for a similiar price and are cuban and are generally just a bit better in my opinion.

    Have you tried them?

Hey man, nice to have a local on board! Nice choices, keep meaning to try La Ricas based on the price alone.

Where abouts are you? Where you buying from and where are you smoking?

Thanks for the welcome, all. I have indeed tried the JLPs Motormadj, the Petit Cetros and the P Cazadores, just found the construction quality to be too hit and miss. I like the La Ricas for what I've found to be uniformly quality build. The last thing you want when you've been looking forward all afternoon to lighting up is a cigar that's hard work - that can make me almost as grumpy as not having one! Buying wise, CGars or Black Swan at Whitby mainly for mail order, though I'm over in the Balearics reasonably often for DF purchases and there's a knowledgeable little tobacconist in Derby Guildhall Market for emergencies. Sadly the days of annual trips to Cuba are over for the time being, at least.
I do smoke cigarettes as well on occasion, RYO using either Auld Kendal dark tobacco or Maya additive free, which is a blend including some Cuban tobacco (in fact it used to be sold as 'Che' in some markets).
