Alright everyone,

Novice hope-to-be-veteran CS here.

Love the smell of sweet tobacco straight outta the packaging.

I first tried a proper cigar when I was in my early 20's from Florida. I bought what I think were either some Montecristos or RJ's.

They were in tubes with a print of a watercolour painting showing the Eiffel tower and a blue sky. Not sure if anyone has ever smoked them before.

Not sure how they could have been either though given that they are Cuban and I bought them in Florida!!! Seem to remember the shopkeeper saying that some of them were either rolled in or made in the Dominican Republic - something like that anyway.

Anyone know the best place for me to buy just a coupla cigars at a time. From London or Surrey if possible?
I know the big brands so would prefer to stick with them, also ones that are mild and a good intro into the scene.

For a few singles at a time you're probably best going to a cigar shop in person to buy. There will doubtless be some locals along soon (I'm still an interloper) to let you know which were the best on their walk in London!

If its just singles your after then check out the 'Cuban cigar walk London video' or the 'cigars shops in London' threads in the general off topic section and this will give you some places to make your purchase.

Or like Barney suggested get yourself to Teddington and check out the Casa del Habanos - you'll love it there...

welcome to the forums. As everyone suggests, there are a few good cigar stores in London, the video of the Cigar Walk will give you clues as to their whereabouts.

Try a San Cristobal El Principe for a nice creamy smoke, not so over powering that it would put you off

Welcome Blood, I can concur that the San Cristobal Priciple is a good starter smoke, they do not cost the earth for a box for 25 mate.

Well it's been a few years now since I last smoked a cigar but I did buy some tubed ones, they were either RyJ or Montecristos. The tube had a painting on them of a scene in Paris I think and blue sky. Tried looking for them on websites but cant find them anywhere. I don't think I've tried enough yet to say what my favourite is, sorry to disappoint.
