Wow, so many replies and so fast... Thanks guys, very kind of you...!

    To answer all questions.

    1. I am male. The real name is Niels. Sorry to disappoint. I tried to get my girlfriend to like it and she did enjoy the first two cigars with me, but she's too health concious.

    2. I am from Karlsruhe in the south of German, French boarder, Black Forrest.

    3. I've moved to London 7 years ago and each time I changes flats/houses, I move further out. We got a house in Romford last year, so technically we now live in Essex.

    4. Tea and cigars. I posted a cigar/tea tasting in a German cigar forum once and I am planning to do some here as well this year. (as soon as the weather allows to enjoy a cigar outside again) I tend to favor Kyo Bancha and Amacha. Kyo Bancha is hand roasted and has a great smoky flavour, while Amacha is a naturally sweet tea without sugar. Both together are sublime and really enhance the flavours in a cigar. If you want to try out some more commonly available teas I would suggest to stay away from Earl Grey (personally I don't think they match) and rather go towards a good Assam or Darjeeling or even green tea and herbal infusions.

Thanks for the nice welcome again.

Funny I enjoy a earl grey with lemon with a medium bodied cigar but I find most tea with out milk pair well

For me it's the citrus notes that don't match with cigars. Though I guess it also depends on the cigar itself and how you feel on that day. I mostly drink green teas and oolongs, though I do like the occasional earl grey as well. Couldn't tell you my favourite tea, it changes every day. Maybe I will try once more with a different cigar. Though my instinct would tell me to rather choose a strong cigar to be able to compete with the strong bergamote flavours.

No I get that the citrus could confuse the flavours from the cigar but I find it gives me a nice clean pallet I also make sure the tea is mot to strong but I should defiantly try more varieties of tea with cigars trouble is I usually favour a good single malt when I smoke

                  Citrus notes, eh?
Drink one with a Juan Lopez No. 2... Or a Juan Lopez Petit Corona? Perhaps with an H. Upmann Epicure No. 2. Or a Cohiba Exquisitos?
I think if you stretch it, you could even pair citrus with a Vegas Robaina Famosos.
Best one for citrus (if you can find it) is the Hoyo du Monterrey du Maire from 2013. Great citrus-y smoke - akin to watermelons.

My favourite normal scotch (Dalmore 12) is citrusy... Perhaps I should try these recommendations when I can

Thanks for the recommendations, I will definitely give them a try.

My favourite standard scotchs would be Laphroig 10yo and Bunnahabain 12yo. Both are from Islay and I have to say that 7 out of 10 of my favourites all hail from that little isle off the scottish coast. I have had some really fine bourbon in recent years as well though. If anybody loves whiskey I can recommend the Whiskey Show in London. Usually takes place early October and it's heaven on earth for everybody who loves whiskey.
