Thanks for the good advice and warm welcome from all.

I will hold off on the humidor and just use a tupaware box for now. I managed to pick up a few tubed sticks while shopping out in Cardiff today which should keep me busy for a week or two!

Swindon isnt too bad (emphasis on the too!) Plus it helps you appreciate everywhere else as soon as you leave!

Hello and welcome! Got all excited when I saw Swindon because it's not a million miles away and then really really excited when I saw you were in Cardiff! I live near Newport, and there doesn't seem to be many of us in South Wales/western England.

I'm sure we can get to meet up once the dust has settled and you've ended up as obsessed as the rest of us, especially If you head over this way for shopping.

              A Warm Welcome

Thought i would introduce myself on here. Im relatively new to cigar smoking. Ive tried a few cigars over the years but only recently have I actually found real enjoyment in a good smoke. Now I am browsing samplers on Cgars (which will also need to be accompanied by a suitable humidor) and looking to take up the hobby more seriously.

I've had a good browse of the forum and it looks great so can't wait to get more involved! If anyone has a recommendation of a sample pack for me to buy, without breaking the bank, then I would be more than happy to listen to any advice or guidance.

              Thanks

              Dave
Aloha Amigo & Welcome to the forums! I was just in Swindon today dropping off my car at lunch time. Lived in Chiseldon & Wroughton for a number of years. If you ever fancy a smoke, just let me know mate.

The forums is a beautiful place filled with rather lovely people that have a combined staggering amount of knowledge (I am not one sadly!)....who are more than happy to give time in helping any new members or those starting off on a most fantastic journey into the World of cigars!

When I started smoking cigars again, I really have purchased most sample packages Cgars Ltd have to offer. I even purchased a few last week. A fantastic way to slowly start appreciating our wrapped up beauties.

The first one I bought was this International Selection Sampler. This gives you quite a range of different smokes with varying degrees of quality and enjoyment. As with most things in life, you have to experience the mediocre to appreciate what is next to come. If not for you, skip straight to the next one!

              International_selectionsampler2014.jpg

              My next suggestion would be the Starter Taste of Havana;

              - Montecristo no 4
              - Bolivar Petit Corona
              - Partagas Petit corona
              - Romeo y Julieta Petit Corona
              - Punch Petit Corona

And this follow one would be good, I certainly enjoyed each and every one

              Introduction to Havana's Sampler....http://www.cgarsltd.co.uk/introducti...rs-p-3291.html

              - Bolivar Coronas Junior
              - Punch Tres Petit Corona
              - Partagas Short
              - Cohiba Siglo I
              - H. Upmann Petit Corona
              - Por Larranaga Petit Corona
              - Romeo y Julieta Petit Corona
              - H. Upmann Half Corona

Hope that gives you a little help. Around here Dave, there is no things as a stupid question, so fear not

Thanks for the recommendations Ross. Ive just ordered the introduction to Havanas sampler and a boveda pack to store them.
All the words of wisdom have been greatly appreciated.
