  • Hi everyone!

Good afternoon all. This week i took the plunge into cigar smoking, ive ordered a handful of cigars and intend to get stuck in enjoying them. However i have no clue in which order i should smoke them or if i should age any of them before smoking, hoping to give them a few days in the humidor when they arrive to let them rest after transport. Any advice is gratefully received, as is comments about my selection and what I missed as a good starting point.

    My first tasting sample includes:

    Montecristo no. 4
    Por larrangue petit corona
    Cohiba siglo 2
    Davidoff grand cru no. 5
Inka secret blend rojo red half corona
Cohiba behike 52 (intend to smoke this at my wedding this summer)
    Punch coronation
    Montecristo petit no. 2

Inka secret blend rojo red half corona - Smoke Whenever
Davidoff grand cru no. 5 - Smoke Whenever
Montecristo petit no. 2 - Smoke Whenever or leave it forever (from my experience, do not hold this against cc's)
Por larrangue petit corona (Beautiful and can be good young)
Montecristo no. 4 (Sold staple CC give it at least a year)
Punch coronation (Give it at least a year or two)
Cohiba siglo 2 (give it at least 3 years)
Cohiba behike 52 (intend to smoke this at my wedding this summer) (smoke ASAP or yeah save it for your wedding if you're going to have time to enjoy it)

        Hi Kevin!
Outstanding time to join the board!

You're getting a tad strong on the Cubans there. Try some more NCs in the mix so not to spoil your palate too soon!!

Very interesting...so which NCs* would you recommend, kind sir?

Hello! My name is BJ, BJ Coro, and I have no idea what an "NC" is.

Haha! What does "BJ" stand for?

                  Yooohooo! I bet I know

Welcome aboard Kevin! Not a bad selection to start with. Hope you enjoy them all, and hope the wedding goes well (which I'm sure it will if a BHK is involved...)

+1 on NC suggestions. I found that it was quite easy to get an idea of what to go for on the CC. but NC's seem to be a bit more of a mind field.

Thanks for for the warm welcome all

Welcome aboard and congratulations on the impending nuptials!

Really you should smoke them whenever and in what order you like. Lovely selection there, I've tried some of them and adored them. If I can make one suggestion, I'd try the Inka earlier on as it may disappoint once you pallette has developed more. Or it may not, that's one of the beauties of taste: its entirely personal!

                              Hi and welcome Kevin

Nice sticks you have there, work on your smoking technique before hitting the Behike, just so you don't smoke it too fast/overheat it, it would be a shame and a waste of money for you.

Don't listen to Butters, just take a look at him to see what the slippery slope of NCdom can do to a man
