Shown on the BBC at 1745 before the news, at the end of every episode Zebedee would say the time honoured phrase 'time for bed' & the littles ones would be taken up for baths & bed & fathers just getting home from their short commute, would be able to watch the news in peace. Put your grandkids to bed that early today, depriving them of the nightly pre-watershed drivel & misery soap operas & they'd be complaining to Childline about you

My parents were a little out there around the time that I was born, I was very nearly Xerxes, and my dad in particular had a major hard on for ancient history. Zebedee is an old arabic name meaning 'Endowed by God' or 'God has given' depending on which translation you prefer, in the bible Zebedee is the father of James and John the fishermen. I prefer the first story, I am God's Gift- that's the one I usually go with when explaining my name haha.
