  • Greetings

    Hi everyone
I am a pipe smokers that recently went into cigars and found the taste alot richer and enjoyable.
Located in Bath and had a few cigars from the local tobacconist already. D4, cohiba corona especial, Bolivar royal corona, choix supreme. Enjoyed them all, and planning to get more. Any recommendations?
    Regards
    Dave
PS: just got a humidor and seasoned it, but now struggling to get the rh down because of the recent rain...

A Boveda pack will lower the humidity as well as maintain it.

I got the 84 seasoning pack, it did a good job on seasoning, but now the humidity stayed the same... Maybe I need to fill the humidor with some cigars to absorb the moisture

But don't give up on the pipe, there's still a time and place for one.

I would have gone for the 69 if you're using a wooden humidor. That should keep it at about 65%.

              Hello and welcome

When seasoning the humi make sure you resist the temptation to keep opening the lid to check, leave it for a good few days first to allow it to stabilise, then check.

Some great recommendations already (kudos for the Cohiba Corona Especiales, my favourite stick), I'll add the Saint Luis Rey Regios, El Rey del Mundo Demi Tasse (a recent discovery to me but others rate then high as well, it's a great little package), H. Upmann Mag 46, Hoyo du Monterrey Petit Robusto, Juan Lopez Petit Corona.

They are all quite small smokes and not too intimidating in flavours/punch.

Hello and welcome. I would also recommend the Hoyo DM epicure 2.

With regards to your humidity. Once you fill the humidor it makes for much more stable humidity.

Welcome from me too, and the HdM #2 was a big favourite of mine when I started out.

                    Hi and welcome.

As mentioned I would go for a lower rH pack than 84. Either way don't worry too much, within a few weeks it will all make sense.

Thanks for the recommendation. Heard many good things about P2 and Monte No.2, looking forward to try them. I haven't actually tried any club size cigars yet, but I am sure they are interesting. As for hygro, I got the boveda 69 for long term storage. As for now, i won't worry about the humidity. :P

Aye. It'll calm down soon Elpine . After a while, the tamping and the poking and all will get so annoying.

But then again, you're so close to domy so perhaps not! I smoke generally all Cubans so it makes sense I gave up. But maybe you'll enjoy those NC humid blends
