Hi folks just to say hi. I've never smoked in my life but a few weeks ago I had an urge to try a Cuban cigar. So on Xmas eve I had my first ever smoke a monte no four. Well after inhaling a couple of times and coughing my guts up I really enjoyed it and now I want my second one ASAP so I can practice smoking it better!!! Big thanks to Robert Graham cigar shop @ rose st edinburgh for fantastic advice and service. Now for my second cigar do I stick to monte no 4 or try another monte like a no 2 - the choices are amazing

Welcome to the forum friend. You'll probably enjoy cigars much more if you don't inhale, some people do, most don't, just let the smoke coat the inside of your mouth, but each to their own.

my first piece of advice is to try as many different singles as your comfortable with, that way, in time you'll discover what you like, what strength, what size and gauge, what brands, Cubans or non-Cubans etc etc.

Hi mate welcome to the forum i personally dont inhale think it ruins the experience if your couching all the time.

Monte no.4 good stick to start on nice and creamy smoke but not to overpowering.

You could try a RyJ cedros i find them nice and not to overpowering mate

Welcome and congratulations on not giving up after an inhale. I would personally save the Monte #2 for a bit.... Bloody brilliant cigar!

Some fantastic Cuban and non Cubans in PC size or slightly smaller to get you started, Punch, Ramon Allones, Fonseca, Jose L Piedra, Trinidad and Montecristo all good CC's I have tried. Oliva, Rocky Patel and Independencia are good NC's I would have again.

My suggestions would be a Dippy Nr 2, an Upmann Mag 46 or one of the Hoyo Short Piramides LEs. All good smokes in my opinion and all offer the step up in size you seek without being too strong.

Maybe try an Hoyo Epicure no2,nice and mild and seem to be great new and aged :-)
