New here and new to this pastime.

I bought a few smokes from Floridita in Soho a few weeks back and a pal brought me some Cohiba Robustos back from his travels and that's me hooked!

I haven't found anything that hits the spot quite like the Robusto from Cohiba although the Siglo 1 has been quite satisfactory.

I'm going to need to help and alternatives as the Cohiba's are likely to bankrupt me!

Awaiting delivery from jjfox for my Christmas smokes and the Mrs has bought me a humidor so it looks like I'm committed to the cause now!

Welcome to the site - there are plenty of great smokes out there other than Cohiba - if you like the Robusto size I'd recommend a Ramon Allones Specially Selected - fantastic cigar!

I hope your smokes will reach you in time for Christmas!!

Well I only have the one but after my other half told everyone at our Xmas house party that I had a humidor full of cigars and they wanted to raid it, I may have to get a second to fill it with tat. Luckily, I had anticipated this eventuality and hidden my humidor underneath my wardrobe. When the horde realised I wasn't going to give them any of my cigars they went across the road to the garage and bought some packs of Castellas ;-)

Welcome to the forum, you have started on some good sticks there! Don't worry though there are lots of good sticks for cheaper. One of the best tips I got was to buy trial sticks in PC size and go from there. Up to now my favourite Cuban brands have been Montecristo, Trinidad, Punch and Ramon Allones... Cohiba are fantastic but not the only option by any stretch, even the relatively cheap Jose L Piedra make some enjoyable sticks.

P.S: Well dodged Sgt. Banter, I'm all for sharing.... But I don't want to waste sticks on people that won't appreciate them!

When I mentioned Jose L Piedra sticks being quite nice at a cheap price (brought back from abroad) I was shot down...haha.
I still say the few I've had were nice smokes.
