hello to all,
not a daily smoker of cigars but i do love an excuse to smoke 'em, wether it be a lazy weekend with a cup of coffee to start the day, or an evening game of poker with friends.
i was introduced to cigars early on as a teen, but was far to naive and in a rush to appreciate the culture of cigars, and later on in my early twenties a rekindeling of my curiosty occured among experimentation with some King edward imperial coronas. But my True enlightening was a bit of a baptism of fire many years later in the form of a Montecristo A if you please! bought for me by my then girlfriend as a birthday gift. i didnt smoke her straight away and the lack of a humi meant keeping the stick in the slim presentation box which i kept wrapped in a plastic bag and positioned it so that a couple of drops of water sat in one corner of the bag away from the cigar to keep it from drying!
perhaps my guerilla tactics were crude but they worked, because once it finally came to lighting the fragrant beast at a game of poker, i was hypnotised by the mellow wet bark like beginnings all the way through the creamy middle into the peppery finish! it took me through the whole game (about two hours) and like i said i am not the most regular smoker so i tend to keep to the smaller formats. but what an amazing experience.
