    Hello
I am pretty new to the cigar world. never been interested in smoking but i was given a Bolivar royal corona at an event a few months back and decided to give it a try. well that was me won over, and since then my student finances are getting even tighter. bought myself a 25 cigar humidor and have started filling it with a few Romeo y Julieta's, Cohiba's, Saint luis rey and some davidoff's sticks so far.

i have been working with carbon fiber for the last few years so ive set myself a summer project of making a very special humidor as the ones available just don't excite me enough to be placed anywhere other than on top of the wardrobe. the only one i have seen is the porsche design 50 cigar humidor but at $3500 its way too high especially when $3000 is going strait into Porsche's pocket, plus i want a external digital hydrometer which it doesnt have.

so i hope to learn some tips and tricks from you guys as i have a lot to learn

    Chris

      Hello and welcome!
As a student I sometimes get creative like you do too!
I'm a chem student so I can play around with humidity and all. I don't do things like you though and definitely not to the extent of building an entire carbon fibre humidor!! Good on ya
If you want an external hygrometer, make sure it's a digital one. It might not look as good (relative to an analogue one of course) but it's how it functions that matters!

Make sure you past some pictures too eh,

Ay up pal. Welcome to the forum. Sounds like a good project. I'd say stick with an external analogue hygrometer for aesthetics (adorini precision hair analogue hygrometers are as accurate as any digital by all accounts), and use a digital hygrometer on the inside if you need the reassurance! Keep us updated on it.

Welcome. Everything is cooler in genuine carbon fibre.

                Thanks guys,

I study construction but i decided my car required a real carbon finish a few years back so invested in some kit, luckily all the people on my car forum love carbon so ive managed to make some profit .
i am looking at going with a digital hydrometer as it will compliment the glassy carbon finish better in my eyes

mostly interior parts which dont need large quantities of carbon or max strength epoxy. was the nissan import forums but now BMW is my new stomping grounds although i havent been able to do much lately due to hectic studying
