  • Newbie Smoker - Hello from Edinburgh

    Hi folks,

Been reading the forum for a while but thought it best to introduce myself and contribute to discussions.

I'm Graham, 30 years old, living just outside Edinburgh in East Lothian, I've been a cigar smoker for a few years, although always cheap and nasty supermarket ones. Decided after my 30th birthday to get myself a proper Humidor which came a few days ago, I'm currently seasoning it, following the excellent advice available on here (using deionised water). I've ordered a few of sticks to put in it:

2 x El Rey del Mundo Demi Tasse
    1 x Trinidad Reyes
    1 x Romeo y Julieta Petit Julieta
    1 x Cohiba Mini's
    1 x Romeo y Julieta Mini's

I'm not a huge fan of the mini cigarillos', but they are oh so handy for that spare 5 minutes where you really fancy a quick smoke.

I notice there's a Robert Graham shop in Edinburgh so will quite possibly be visiting there on payday and spending an obscene amount. The humidor I have holds around 50 cigars, I am in no doubt I'll outgrow that fairly shaprish!

Looking forward to many discussions leaf related

    Cheers
    Graham

Hi Graham, Welcome onboard! Glad to see you have made a determined effort to start on the Puro route. Sure you'll get plenty of good advice at the RG shop, can you sample there?

Hi Graham, I just moved to Esinburgh yesterday!

The Robert Graham on The Royal Mile is a very good shop - not the widest selection in the world, but a very well thought out selection.

Thanks for the warm welcome folks, much appreciated. Simon, not sure if you can sample anything in the RG shop, never asked the last time I was in there but plan on taking a trip up again this weekend so will perhaps try my luck

Currently got the humidor seasoning, it's quite satisfying seeing the hygrometer creeping up to the ideal humidity think it's at 55% at the moment and rising. Just using the analogue one which is inside the humidor but have ordered a digital one for more accurate readings, can't wait to get some smokes in it, I just know I'll be in the market for a bigger one fairly soon.
