  • Greetings and questions from Africa

Thought it was time to introduce myself as I've been lurking for a while now.
Real name is Dave, I am living in Western Africa, country called Gabon, this is for four years, my wife works for an oil company.
As an infrequent cigar smoker I have often thought that I would like to take it more seriously, but until recently have not really had the time or the money.
Now I have lots of time, and some money, the only problem is I cannot get any cigars locally, and there is no postal service where I am.
A couple of friends having gone back to the U.K. for Christmas kindly volunteered to bring some supplies back for me.

Below is my first order, have endeavoured to get a good selection of Cuban and NC sizes, blends, and costs, the point being to try as many different smokes as possible. It actually arrives today. My next opportunity to get supplies will be end of January.
    Happy to take onboard any thoughts\advice about what should be in the next order;
    3 x C.Gars Ltd Nicaraguan Selection - Robusto Cigar - 1s
    3 x Inka Secret Blend - Azul Blue - Robusto 1s
    3 x Inka Secret Blend - Rojo Red - Tres Petit Corona - 1s
    3 x Tatuaje Petit Cazadores Reserva - 1s
    2 x Charatan Tubed Churchill 1s
    1 x Rocky Patel Sampler ? 3 Cigars (C.Gars)
    1 x Montecristo Minis - 10s
    3 x Romeo y Julieta Churchills Untubed - 1s
    3 x Por Larranaga Petit Coronas cigars - 1s
    2 x Diplomaticos No. 1 cigars - 1s
    1 x A Small Taste Of Cuba Sampler (C.Gars)
    1 x Bolivar Sampler (C.Gars)
    1 x Cuaba Sampler (C.Gars)
    1 x Partagas Sampler (C.Gars)
1 x Cultivating a Tradition of Perfection Beginners Guide to Havanas
    1 x Enterprise Deauville - Leaf - Humidor ? 150 cigar capacity
    - Hygrometer Upgrade: Caliber IV Digital Hygrometer (C.Gars)
    1 x Palio Cigar Cutter
Quite a long first post, but I am really keen to hear your ideas for my next steps.

Welcome Dave...next step is to get your friends to go somewhere else for their holidays..like Cuba, Switzerland, Andorra etc. where the cigars are so much cheaper...what they save in tax will keep a small African village in food for a month....

Hi and Welcome David .... and the step after .... to get your post count up to speed, no knowing where your cigar finding might take you then.
If you want to, you can.
And, if you can, you must!

My mother always said 'you can't have too many Davids' - so I started life as one ! Welcome yet another David - enjoy the Forums and enjoy your cigars.

I've got a great cigar collection - it's actually not a collection, because that would imply I wasn't going to smoke every last one of 'em.
