    Hi Ady...
un-opened as they are they might be worth a couple of bob to a collector, they're more than likely un-smokeable now...not of high quality in the first place, but I believe they had a 'following'...

yeah i sort of knew they were just a run of the mill cigar, just the age of them got me intrigued. So these are actually worth something to someone out there???
      Thanks for the input,
      Ady

So how would i go about seeing if anyone wants them??
i would much prefer someone to take these off my hands who will appriciate owning them, as to me its just two boxes of really old cigars i know nothing about in the cupboard!!

Strangely, if you really want to find them an appreciative home, I would start with John Player.

The manufacturer may like to have them, as a record of past packs and offers.

Ahh right, just looked up the john player website, currently down. by the looks of the video in the other thread they are from 1977, cant believe after 35 years they are literally in perfect condition even with the cellophane still on. may have been a good find for me?!

I hope so. Although a 5 pack like this from the same era would have been a lot better.

Some of the brands still exist, but John Player & Sons were taken over some time back by Imperial Tobacco.

There is an archive of Player brands and packaging.

And recently Nottingham ran/or are running a museum exhibit about Player.

Had you discovered your packs a little sooner they might have found a slot somewhere.
