Got brought back a non branded cuban cigar form the sister in law a couple of years ago, smoked it some months later and absolutely loved it...since then been buying the odd cigar from the offi, particualrly liking the lighter brands such as Santa Damiana coronas and the Churchills when i have the time, and every now now and again treating myself to a cuban but didn't really appreciate them considering how much more money they were, however, just brought a 2009 Cuban sample pack of Mitchell and wow...now i get it!

"A good Cuban cigar closes the door to the vulgarities of the world".
okay, thanks guys, heres a couple i will put to you, why is it essential to buy EMS cigars, and do you get them abroad or only in England and do you think it is bad to part smoke a cigar and finish it the following day from a flavour point of view?
It is only essential to buy EMS cigars if you're buying from the UK. EMS cigars have been quality controlled, approved for the UK market and are usually high quality. My advice would be to buy from the major cigar retailers such as the forum sponsor when you're buying in the UK - they have a proven track record and you won't get ripped off.
I buy some of my cigars from the UK and some when travelling abroad (they're often a lot cheaper abroad). If you buy from abroad I advise you to only buy from a La Casa del Habano or a well known reputable retailer such as Davidoff. Again, this means that you won't be ripped off with fakes.
I strongly suggest that you don't put out a cigar and relight it the next day. This will ruin the flavour. Try to select a cigar that's the right size for the time you have to smoke it in - e.g. don't select a double corona if you only have a half hour break.
Hope this helps.

Ah i see, thanks Crusse , so EMS is only a UK standard! Got a friend going abroad and asked him to bring me back a box of Cubans and mentioned EMS but this will obviously not be applicable!

No worries...That's right, he won't find EMS abroad. If you don't mind me asking, what cigars are you thinking of getting?
