Hi everyone,
I would just like to introduce myself. I live in Cardiff and I love a fine cigar, even though I am certainly a beginner when it comes to appreciating the finer aspects of it. I am primarily a snuff taker, and occasionally smoke a pipe, and only very occasionally smoke a cigar. But there is nothing quite like the taste of a fine Cuban, and while I love the unique flavours that you can find in snuff and pipe tobacco, nothing ever hits that specific 'nose' that you get from a nice cigar.
I very recently got myself a small table top humidor to try and build a small stash of cigars to enjoy when the moment strikes me. Cigars I have enjoyed in the past include petit coronas and smaller cigars from RyJ, Upmann, Partagas, Bolivar (even if this was a bit rich for my tastes) and Punch (particularly liked these). I also ventured into non-Cuban territory such as Ashton VSG (again a bit rich), Oliva, and Rocky Patel. I think my palate probably tends towards mild and medium body cigars at the moment.
I would be very grateful for recommendations for things to try. The variety is a bit overwhelming! Nevertheless, it's all part of fun, isn't it? I look forward to participating in the forum, in any case.
cheers
