Hello cigar Forumites!
My name's Nathan and I've popped around to say hello and basically thank you for the wealth of information you have in your archives!
I have been smoking cigars for about 12 months now and recently bought myself a small humidor so that I can keep a selection. I came across UKCF because my humidor bacame very mouldy today! My humidifier had managed to mould up along with part of my humidor. Luckily, as I'm new to all this and check my cigars regularly, I noticed quickly enough to whip out my cigars (now in plastic zip bags) and have cleaned my humi with alcohol (don't worry, i didn't use my Talisker distillers edition :O). It's sitting out now, ready for a replacement humidifier (going with the silica beads i think) and soon to be purchased digital hydrometer.
The cigars I nearly killed are:
Bolivar Royal Corona
RyJ Wide Churchill
LFdC petit robusto
4 Montechristo No. 4
and a Berta Corzo Thorpe Hand rolled special.
Phew! Glad I caught it pretty early on!
About me? I 'found' cigars following a trip to Cuba many years ago, have quite expensive taste having tried and adored the Cohiba Behike 52 and Siglo VI the week before last at a 'Rum, Pipe and Cigar' night run at a local bar, as sponsored by our local cigar shop here The Bear Shop, where Berta Corzo Thorpe was rolling all night long.
Most of the above cigars I have yet to try, and i don't know very much yet, but I have tried among a few others, some very fine Cohibas, RyJs, Montechristos and Partagas of varying sizes. the only Cuban cigar I've tried that I overtly hated was the Montechristo Open Master. didn't work for me at all!
Anyway! That's me in a nutshell!
