CARDIFF 23 August 2011: Cigar, Pipe and Rum Evening at Gwdihw

In a pleasing turn of events, there appears to be something decent happening in Cardiff.

The venue is Gwdihw, a great little place minutes from the centre of town. It has a lovely covered area out the back with comfortable seating, pleasant staff, etc.

It is a ticket-only event (email cigar@gwdihw.co.uk for more details) and I'd hope a few of us from here in South Wales could make it along to show it's worth their while. I believe the Bear Shop are involved somehow; I'll nip down to have a chat with them tomorrow if I get chance to see if I can glean any more info.

Pleased to say that I'll definitely be in Gloucester on that date. As such, I can confirm that I shall definitely be in Cardiff for this event!

I think I shall probably give the RyJ Duke a second chance (I have promised it one). Though the Mag48 is always tempting...

Just to say this was a spectacular evening. Great company, fine cigars, plenty of booze, some top tunes and a great mix of people. Got chatting with Paresh the owner of the Bear Shop and Patrick from H&F and they are a couple of top guys.
Considering the turn-out, I wouldn't be surprised if there were more in the future...

Sorry I missed this Dave, I was stuck in Bristol but it looks like a great event. I'm in Cardiff now until the 12th of Sept but if anything is happening on a weekend keep me up to date, I'd love to meet all of you in person!

If i remember rightly, i think i actually managed to walk into you as you were trying to take some of those pics!! apologies again! i was wandering around with an old black olympus film camera bothering Paresh and the mixologists. I'm actually going to be blogging about that night tomorrow and Wednesday - so much went on I had to make it a 2 parter.
