I have to make a trip into London next Thursday (21st July) in order to see a consultant about my dodgy knee. Whilst I'm about, and given that I haven't done so for a while, I quite fancied a little stop off at 10 Manchester Street for an evening smoke before heading home on the last train.

If anyone is available to join me that would be wonderful (it's always better to smoke in company) - open to other venue suggestions if people would prefer.

PS. I'll also be out and about in the early afternoon (late afternoon appointment), so if anyone's free for a lunchtime cigar around Mayfair/St James then that would be great too.

Can't make that, as much as I'd love to share a good smoke, but I can't recommend the Garden room at the Lanesborough highly enough. Check it out if you haven't been http://www.lanesborough.com/?page=cu...ce/garden_room. They have a quite frankly revolting number of delicious and rare cigars (most of which won't be on the regular menu, so do ask if you want an RE or LE), and the mark up for the 'a la carte' cigars ranges from approximately double online UK prices (e.g. PSD4s for ?22 & Trini Robusto T for ?31) to just a fraction more (e.g. esplendidos for ?35).

haven't been to 10 though, so will be interested to see how you get on.

Hi Simon, I will be in the City Thurs, only problem is I will be with Wife & Daughter but if you pm your mobile I'll try to slip away. Jebus, I always take my own to these cigar bars as 'normal' UK prices are too rich for me, never had a problem whipping out one of my own. Afer all, still paying for their over priced beer, to enjoy the facillities on offer.

Jebus - That's a shame. Thanks for the recommendation of the Lanesborough - have heard a couple of good reports first-hand now (all the hype is justified it seems). I've done 10MS a few times. The smoking area is well protected and at times verging on the tropical! Drinks and service are good, though just a touch on the pricey side (but hey, it's a hotel in London, and by those standards they're not extoritionate). Can get a bit busy, and is truly packed when they have one of their H&F evenings.
