OH this is today is it? Now I understand. I got a text from Monkey66 asking where I was. Well I too did not think it had the wow factor and a Thursday evening run up and down to London didn't really interest me either. I may well look at the pics after the event and wish I had gone but yet to be convinced.

"In Italy for 30 years under the Borgias they had warfare, terror, murder and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, and the Renaissance. In Switzerland they had brotherly love, they had 500 years of democracy and peace, and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock!"

OK guys it's late and I have an early start so a quick resume and some photo's of the gang.
A great venue, Pol Roger vintage 2000 champagne which was wonderful and the Flor de Cano which is light, loosely rolled and could be twice the length for me, really great light all day cigar.
(I've got a tiny Cohiba and I'm not afraid to use it!)Nic

So how was the Partagas?"In Italy for 30 years under the Borgias they had warfare, terror, murder and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, and the Renaissance. In Switzerland they had brotherly love, they had 500 years of democracy and peace, and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock!"

A great day/evening.
Met up with HabanoSy, jerry and PeanutPete just in time for lunch. One steak and bottle of red wine later and I calmed down and began to relax.
We headed to JJF and settled in for the pre-party. Berry Bros house red was flowing freely and we all had an ?07 short Churchill. It was OK but not a stick I really smoke ?.or will in the future.
The Irish contingent and Fox cosa-nostra turned up. Great to meet Ryan, Rob, Yirgos and the others. The wine kept flowing and then Nic Wing and TJ01 arrived. Rob Fox was kind enough to give out some lovely sticks ?a bit of a ?luck dip? as they came from an ?old humidor? so wasn?t really sure of age or quality. A few of the guys had some old Monte especialles (I am guessing late 90?s) and Sy and I got R and J Churchill?s. Sy?s was very nice and (we think) from the 90?s. Mine was outstanding with a very old tubo band and probably from the 80?s. It was a stunning smoke! Sy got on the case and I think I had a Clemenceaus "discontinued '80's" ...unbeleaveable ...look here
We then walked (slightly staggered) upto the Langham where we were presented with our package containing 2 FdCs, 2 Regalos de Londres and an IOU for the missing Partagas assuring it would be in the post as soon as they arrive in the country. With the additional two FdC?s coming from Mitch this is looking like a far better deal.
Whilst the canap?s were a bit scarce the Pol Roger vintage 2000 wasn?t and we did our best to drink it all. I fired up a great ?98 Cohiba Lancero and followed it with a fat custom curtosey of NicWing.
Great to see Stephen, Ajay and Keith (The Prince, Mosley). We got a chance to discuss the upcoming herf.
Drinking, smoking and shooting the sh1t continued unabated. I probably drunk a little too much and found myself in McDonalds at 1030pm needing something to soak up the alcohol!
A great evening, I was a little rough this morning but all good now ?.cheers guys, here?s to the next one.

Yes it was a great evening ... I enjoyed meeting you guys in person and talking away over the cigars and Pol Roger. Although I enjoy the contemplative nature of a cigar on your own, perhaps late on in the evening, its great to remind ourselves just how good it is to have a smoke with your chums!

Great meeting all you guys in Fox first then at the event later. Some good cigars had.
We ended up in No. 5 somewhere (not 10 Manchester) then some of the guys kept a residents' bar busy somewhere until about 2:30, I called it a day about 1am.
We spent yesterday afternoon drinking Albarino at Dunhill, bought up the last of their RA Coronas which Yiorgos did well to dig out.
I had another thing on in London last night which went on 'til this morning. Not too well tonight in Dublin. See you all next year hopefully.
