  • Habanos World Day June 20th - 22nd

Anyone going to any of the herfs arranged around the country for the Trinidad 55th anniversary celebrations?

I'm looking forward to the CASC one and smoking a lovely Fundadores!

Last night I spent a couple of hours compiling a spreadsheet of all the venues taking part and tried to work out who was offering the best deals. I shared it on my most recent blog post, but thought I'd post here too in case it's of any use to anyone:

Trinidad Tasting Time - UK Venues - Google Spreadsheet

      Some key things jumped out:
      • The most common Trinidad cigar being sampled seems to be the Trinidad Fundadores cigar – which retails between £76 (CGars) and £138 (Davidoff of London).
      • Some venues are offering 2x Trinidad cigars at their event including James J Fox (£130). Surrey Cigars (£125) is offering including the 1x Trinidad Fundadores cigar and 1 x Vintage 2006 Trinidad Reyes Cigar.
      • James Barber in North Yorkshire appear to be hosting their event on the Sunday evening 23rd June, whereas everyone else seems to be hosting on the Friday evening.
      • A lot of the hotels with cigar sampling lounges/terraces don’t seem to be pushing the events, and some venues have not mentioned anything about the events on their website.
      • I understand that there are several private members’ clubs hosting events, but the specific details are not publicly disclosed. From a quick google search there are approximately eight private members cigar clubs I’ve managed to track down, which include Annabel’s, Mark’s Club, Oscuro at The Arts Club, Ten Trinity Square, Soho Whiskey Club, Smoking Room at The East India Club, Monty Club, Century Club, and Langans. However, I have no information regarding which of these venues will be hosting events.
As you can tell I spent quite a lot of geeky time looking into this haha. I've ended up buying a ticket for the event at Sautters, Knightsbridge. As i've not done a cigar event there before. Wondering if Laurence will be there?

Yeah I'm starting to hear a bit of backlash re: this Trinidad campaign along with the price hikes of Cuban cigars I'm still really impressed how they've pulled together a launch like this though! Be great to see more of it, possibly with some Nicaraguan, Dominican Repuplic releases too. I'd love to attend the Habanos World Day seminar and exhibition - but even that cost wise is way above my price range. I'd even be up for volunteering at the event, to hear the talks

Don't worry the Nicaraguans are getting in on the action ... https://halfwheel.com/altadis-usa-be...cristo/439411/
