Roller at the Bear Shop in Cardiff 14/15 September 2010
Well I did it. Finished work early and got to the Bear Shop about 4 hoping Hamlet would still be there. What a fantastic thing to have cigars rolled, while you watch, just for you. I am now the proud owner of two beautiful robusto cigars rolled by Hamlet. They smell great. Would have loved to get more but ?15 each is more than I have paid for any single. Not sure when I will fire them up. I did ask Hamlet how long I should leave them before smoking, expecting him to say a year or more but he said they would be good to smoke tomorrow. They just need a day for the wrapper to dry out. He explained that most cigars sold in shops are at least a few months old or even longer, but where else would I get an opportunity to smoke a freshly rolled cigar. It would be a new experince. He said as it was so fresh it would be strong with high nicotine content. I may take his advice and fire one up on the weekend and keep the other long term for a special occasion. But so glad I went, unfortunately missed meeting anyone else at the shop.
