OMG! Is Scout Jr. OK?!? What is Speedo's PROBLEM!?! Why does that WOMAN have such hairy ARMS?!?? Did anyone DIE!!??I can answer all these questions and m...
Looks a great event, very sorry to have missed meeting so many of you, but it was for a good cause.
Great link EugeneSax! Only problem is, Stephan looked a little dafter than the cat... When considered in light of the accompanying umbrella - excuse... British weather. Which is a fair point I suppose...
Think I forgot to mention before, great meeting some new faces alongside the old.
Firstly, many, many thanks to Mitch & Dunhills for a great evening...
Started the day off in JJ Foxes where I smoked the new Montecristo Grand Edmundo EL 2010, IMO a fantastic smoke already...
Lunch was had just round the corner in a pub watching the Holland/Denmark game where a fillet steak & bottle of rioja went down very well...
Back to JJ Foxes for a brief encounter with Big T and Lascaux before they decided to head off to an American bar for drinks/eats...!?!
Headed upstairs to the smoking lounge with a Cohiba Maduro5 Genios in hand, very nice smoke indeed but needs more time IMHO. Peanut Pete & Simon joined us not long afterwards with the latter bringing a bottle of the house white from Berry Bros which went down very well indeed...
Pete smoked the LGC Gloriosos RE UK and Simon smoked the Ashton VSG Belicosos...
Soon it was time for the main event so a quick walk and soon we were at Dunhills where we met up with Mothman, Snooky, Sean P, Stephan, Jimmeh and Big T. I had a quick scout around the humidor purchased a couple of the Cuaba Piramides EL08 which i've heard a couple of good things about recently (i.e. they are smoking very well at the moment!?!) and gawped at a couple of boxes of Estupendos which were in someones private keep...
Next UKCF memebers to turn up were jpmoore, jibjob79 and pandyboy which was great. Once I'd managed to drag myself out of the humidor I collected my goodie bag from Michelle and fired up the Cain Maduro which for me was just about ok...
Next person through the door was Monkey66 which was great as he'd bought the box of Monte D's EL05 I'd managed to make him part with . Safely stashed away in my goodie bag we headed on up to the terrace where Louis Roderer Champagne, Dunhillion Whisky and Canapes were being distributed very generously.
Sir nicwing was next in hence the great pics . Managed to grab a table with Peanut Pete, Snooky, Monkey66, Simon & Stephan, a great evening of conversation, frivolity and laughter ensued. Monkey66 very kindly gifted me a Montecristo No.1 which smoked absolutely beautifully...
As is he case with all these events/evenings it was over all too soon, a few of the guys headed on over to 10 Manchester St to carry on their evening whereas I sadly had to depart and make my way back to Winchester...
Once again, thanks again guys for a really great evening...
If I have failed to mention any other UKCF members I managed to meet, then I am truly sorry...
What a great evening, just like to echo everybody else by saying thanks to Mitch and Dunhills. I must have drank ?100 worth of champagne and whisky !!!!
Also thanks to Jimmyh for introducing us to 10 Manchester street, very nice!!
Evening would have been perfect apart from the worst taxi driver in the world, missed the train, next train stopped at every blood station and finally got home about 1am, but i suppose you can't have everything!
Looking forward to the next event
?I have to laugh when I think of the first cigar, because it was probably just a bunch of rolled up tobacco leaves?
Remarkable recall Sy. By the end of the evening I could barely remember what I'd smoked, let alone in what order I'd smoked them (and the timings of when people turned up...)
Sounds like a fantastic time was had by all. I had a ticket booked and was all set to head up there when at 4:30pm a bit of a crisis surfaced that meant that I couldn't go....absolutely gutted!! Glad everyone enjoyed it so much and I resolve to make it to the next big HERF.
Sublime hospitality by Mitch and Dunhills great evenining, should've mixed a bit more but alas the old champers started to take effect, after the London pride and Dunhillion whisky. Missed going back to No 10 and visited mum in hospital on Euston rd for the 2nd time that day. Look forward to the mega-herf.
Looks like a great night was had by all and I only wish I could have been their. Looks like most made an effort and put their glad rags on too. A proper gentlemans occasion.
I take my hat off to the unknown chap in the 2nd photo for his efforts, a mustache like that requires many precision man hours. Believe me, I've tried!
