"In Italy for 30 years under the Borgias they had warfare, terror, murder and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, and the Renaissance. In Switzerland they had brotherly love, they had 500 years of democracy and peace, and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock!"
Well, I may be a little later than anticipated at JJ Fox this afternoon. All services at Plymouth station are stopped as some wazzok crashed into a bridge just outside the station. Now waiting for an 'bridge examiner' (will it be multiple choice?) who will take so long to get here that he's probably just caught the Cross Country service from Aberdeen...
Finally arrived in London - over an hour late. Just quickly dumping my stuff in my hotel, charging my phone and (naturally) wasting five minutes on here...
Will be at JJ Fox in minutes... Quite a few, but still minutes.
Thought I'd get the first post in as I wait on the ferry to go to work. Why didn't I take the day off?
Just like to thank Mitch and the people at Dunhills for laying on such a great event. My first ever offical organised Herf and won't be my last. Great to meet up with so many members.
I too thoroughly enjoyed the event, well worth the trip. Also enjoyed the pre-/post-event meet ups at JJ Fox and Ten Manchester Street.
I had the maduro on the night - not half bad at all. Managed to be reasonably strong, but not brutish - a similar characteristic to a good Bolivar (though without the complexity of a good Bolivar). Quick score: 87.
was a great night, and from Nics pics it shows I didn't mingle much as I didn't even realise the likes of Monkey66 ans Pete were even there! , I sampled the Maduro too, it was a bit strong for me but have high hopes for the other Cain I have yet to try.
Thanks to Mitch and Dunhill, for an excellent evening
