The last image from Monkey is my good self on the verge of igniting the end of a 2003 Cohiba Double Corona Edicion Limitada. I do not generally like Cohiba - i dont buy them i dont smoke them.... except for the occasional rarity to see how they stand up to the hype.

    It was 'orite....

I enjoyed my other smokes a lot more - i had a Bolivar Royal Corona from a swap with MasterDJ and i then had a Partagas Serie D No. 4 from 08 - great cigar! I was going to finish there, but i decided to smoke a nub for the end part of the evening and on the walk to the station.

A great evening had - good to meet Eugene and Peanut and good to see those i had met before!

Monkey posted a picture on me with a Cuaba Diademas. I'll be honest having a "monster" like that was great. I didn't initially blow me away. It was very smooth. Good smoke. Not a great one. The one thing that did stand out for me was the aroma - Purely amazing. But since I have a few of these monsters I?ll give them more attention when I let the next one out of its cage.

Paul then gave me something entertaining to smoke. Por Larranaga, Corona? I've forgotten. This was a great little smoke though I was concentrating on not blowing my fingers off. It looked lit it was about to burst. Unfortunately towards the end the band was holding it together, so I didn't get the full flavours and aromas since anything below the band died out honourably. This might be something to consider for a future purchase.
        Thanks

        The Bear.

A Thoroughly enjoyable herf - good to meet Paul, Ricardo, Sean, James & Trevor (& of course re-meet Pete).

I felt a bit intimidated at first by the size of everyone's sticks - Diademas, DC's & other biggies whose names I know not - but after a while I felt welcome enough to get my modest Dalia out (a Gloria no 2). At 12 years old it wasn't a major taste bomb, but showed some lovely subtle aged charcteristics.

I was only going to stay for one smoke, but the company & RJ Duke that I traded with Paul persuaded me to face a micro-waved supper and ear-bashing to stay & enjoy my first Duke - a wonderfully perfumed smoke, I can see why they are so popular.

It's a great venue & I've signed up for the P2 & Black Velvet evening in 2 weeks. Look forward to seeing you all again then.

have to say as well the state of the cigars in their humi isnt great. very many split wrappers and readings of 50% humidity

but brilliant place to smoke, i love it

was one of the reasons i chose the trini, as it seemed to be one of the few in good condition the humi readings were in the mid 60s i think so maybe there taking more care now?

Re: Anyone for Manchester Street Wed 3rd March?

I think their hygrometers aren't calibrated- I have had some people complain that the cigars there are kept too humid. They are humidiers from hunters so they should be good kit.... In theory.

Big Bear, you managed a Diademas & then a Corona I had my first diademas recently; it was wonderful, agree with aroma, loved the flav, admittedly it doesn't vary alot but I guess if it suits you that's not a problem. It lasted 2 1/2hrs & left me totally satisfied & didn't smoke for a wk afterwards.

I didn't bother counting the hours. Cigars are fine works of art there for us to sample. It felt right to fire another one up and enjoy it. Although next time I will be giving my diademas more attention; I almost let it go out a few times.

It's been said by many before - No. Ten is a great place for a smoke.
