So a bit of a session yesterday. I'll tell my story and others can chip in.
My first smoke was the best cigar in the world in 2009 according to a certain publication. My experience was fairly straightforward, the first half of the cigar was a light, too sweet/licorice slightly spicy non-event, the second half got better and better as a creaminess and fuller body built up. really enjoyed the last 3 inches or so. A good smoke but not the best of the evening, let alone the year.
My next stick was one of the recently acquired R and J belicosos 2001LE's. This was a supreme smoke, slightly too tight to be perfect but can't wait to smoke the others.
Third of the day was an 06' Siglo IV that was creamy and dreamy.
I was contemplating a 4th when SP kindly sent me over a Partagas Black Label Espresso which is a new world for me. A very nice finishing cigar, sclean sweet and spice without being too full on.
Another great session making new, and meeting old friends.
Was a good evening and I hope everyone enjoyed it as much as I did. I went with an entire NC line up starting with a Partagas Black, Rocky Patel Olde World Reserve Corojo and ending with a Tatuaje Havana VI. All good smokes had in the company of great people.
Nice to put a few faces and personalities to names and always great to share smokes and conversation with other BOTL as smoking alone can be a tiring sport.
Just one correction as to Monkey's final smoke, it was a NC Hoyo Dark Sumatra in the Espresso vitola. Glad you enjoyed it sir! And in no way did that compare to the very lovely Monte 2006 LE that you slid across the table to me...fair warning for our next meeting
