Might I modestly suggest Friday the 11th, the evening thereof? It is not so close to Christmas that everything will be pandemonium in town, hopefully most members of the forum will not be tied up with family stuff already.
I could have a word at the Boisdale to see if they could handle a larger number on the smoking patio for the event, we wont have to eat.
I think you could be pushing it to hold it closer to Christmas but the date I mention is not far off, so if I might suggest some alacrity in firming this up.

"In Italy for 30 years under the Borgias they had warfare, terror, murder and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, and the Renaissance. In Switzerland they had brotherly love, they had 500 years of democracy and peace, and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock!"

I agree with T! I wouldn't be too keen on popping along to one if it was any later. Thought that doesn't mean that I wouldn't.
There's a fast train now from Folkestone at certain times of the day that whisks you to London St Pancras on the Channel Tunnel line in less than an hour.
You have to pay ?9 extra, apparently, for the fast service.
A day return during the week comes to almost ?50 from my town. A London herf from my town isn't worth it with this outlay.
Those of you who live in or close to London - Have great fun!
