Hotel for London mega herf

A couple of us are getting hotels on the 19th Sep, just to make a complete weekend of it!

I wondered if
a) Anyone has booked one
b) Could recommend one
c) Would be interested in making a multi-booking to save money

Was thinking of going either for value of opulance... Until cigars came along, I spent almost all of my earnings on travel (no cars or binge drinking for me ). As such I quite like nice hotels - usually choosing the Savoy if in London. It's still closed until the autumn (a shame as you can rack up Fairmont stays at it), so had thought of giving the Lanesborough a try (you get your own butler, even in the 'standard' rooms ).

Money might not be quite that free at the moment, so had thought of staying at the BW Premier (Shaftesbury) Kensington (here). I stayed there last time I was in London for a quick one nighter. The location is really good (about a minute from Earls Court underground station), and the rooms are finished quite nicely (especially for the price). However... I found the service to be awful. However, despite this, as the location, room, and breakfast were all so good (especially for the ?89 price tag), it is certainly somewhere I'd stay again.

Then again, the Union Jack Club's not a bad idea. The Naval and Military Club is also in a pleasant setting with some nice facilities.

I have booked a room at the Southwark Travel Lodge, which is 2 minutes from where the Mega HERF is taking place...

?85 for the room..
