Christmas Offer to Herf attendees only!
The missus is giving me grief for the cost of my attendance so I have decided to mollify her by raising the costs from selling some of my oldest cigars. I have a box of 1970 Monte No4's & am willing to sell one each to the first 6 to contact me via pm, to smoke on the day. I am sure this would be a lovely 1st stick, very suitable for those coming to JJ's, I smoked one at the Hotel Nacional & it was delightful; for the price of a fresh Monte Open Eagle from JJ's. for a 40yo stick I think that's pretty fair & would certainly get us in the festive spirit!CigarCollection.2017.04.21.IMG_3864.1.jpgMonte.No4.2018.12..03.DSC_0882.1.jpg

Or perhaps afterwards, is not the use of the lounge for smoking cigars purchased in store only Simon? I'm sure that CCTV is there for a purpose

I always smoke my own cigars in cigar lounges & never had a problem. Usually they make money from the drinks & or food (like Boisdales) but if JJ's is only providing water (you mentioned taking your own coffee in without a problem), I guess we'll be obliged to buy something so I'll buy a Monte No5 & smoke my 1970's No4, I am sure they won't worry & second I am sure that their CCTV isn't there for that purpose but I'll check with Robert Fox.

We have no cigar lounges in the UK. Only sampling areas as far as I understand. So I expect by law one is only allowed to smoke something purchased. The business must also have a considerable business interest in premium tobacco to allow this.
The moment you as a customer cease to sample, is the moment they, the tobacconist, are breaking the law it would seem.
For those interested in reading the Gov legislation
These Regulations, which apply only to England, provide exemptions from the smoke-free requirements of section 2 of the Health Act 2006 and provide for most public and work vehicles to be smoke-free under section 5 of that Act.

I think I may finally have this CAD under control...
I have smoked many cigars at the Stafford, although mainly in the summer, but I can confirm they have heaters under the awning which is also the entrance to the bar...
