so .. without being an advert... @ handlebarpipe BWCC is an informal club that offers monthly meetings to sample a specific smoke, usually paired with an interesting or unusual choice of drink. They hold herfs in different locations, with 1a being the hub of activities.
So far I have been to a couple of gatherings, and like any gathering where you start not knowing anyone they can be a little daunting, but the moment you stick out your hand, say hello, share a thought on the impending smoke/drink then the conversation just flows. Once things are going then frankly the talking doesnt stop! its not ridiculously priced... in fact once you factor in the stick and the drink then the members ticket price is pretty good value.
nic wing posted something about them some time ago and I enquired... he connected me to one of the founders... attended a tasting... and was invited to join! no particular benefit of membership beyond a better price on the ticket to the events which are worth doing - usually a bit of a speech on the liquor, and then some tasting notes on the stick... then get stuck in and natter away!
mixed crowd, younger through to older mostly men as you might expect, but a few SOTL's too. I posted some thoughts on the tasting on yesterdays 'what are you smoking' thread.
