Gents-It's likely that I will be back in London on Friday. If anyone is around either Friday 15th evening or Saturday 16th daytime it's likely I'll be smoking somewhere and would be good to see people before I head back to New York. Post any interest here, I'm already thinking back to JJ's or 1A St James.

Hey mate, I can be around on Friday night for a smoke if you fancy it, I won't finish work until about 6/6:30 so a lounge is pretty much out the question, however there are plenty of nicely heated outdoor areas in London. Where about in London you based/working? If your brolly was something to go by... Fleet Street?

To herf or not to herf, that is the question...

Thanks to [MENTION=13434515]Krist[/MENTION] for meeting up before I head back to NYC on Sunday.
Had to line the stomach with some food, yes that's a square of black pudding on the side accompanying that burger-delicious!
Started off with a Por Larranaga Encantos, first try on this one, a lovely mild to medium smoke with those delicious woody,creamy and sweet flavours that are associated with Por Larranaga. One pic shows the ash which dropped right on the edge of the table-couldn't do that again even if I tried! Also nice meeting cigar sommelier Manu Harit again - currently the youngest at 23 years old to hold the H&F Master of Havana Cigars certification, a very mature and knowledgable young man and it's great to see younger enthusiasm and talent for our love of this hobby.
Second up was a CoRo from '14. I haven't been overly impressed with the sticks I've had out of my box but could be down to a lack of age and also has been sitting in my travel humi for 2 weeks now with no humidification and felt dry.Will revisit in another 6 months or so.
Seems like a Por Larranaga kind of night finishing up with the trusted PLPC. I had mentioned to James that my first ever one of these was in August last year from a freshly cracked cab and I smoked with my cousin, at the time both of us felt they were strong/harsh which sounds unusual for PL but a few months down the line these have settled and now tasting lovely and smooth already!I really enjoy experiencing the development of cigars with time.
Edit - should add had a great evening chatting with [MENTION=13434515]Krist[/MENTION] and look forward to future herfs when I am back!

Well thanks for the invite [MENTION=13426064]torsion[/MENTION].

I started off the evening with a lovely steak sandwich and a glass of red wine, followed shortly by a RyJ Prince de Gales '00. It's a Churchill size with a draw that was just on the tight end so it lasted a while. I tried one of their old fashioneds but wasn't massively impressed so went back to the wine (I found it afterwards online to get another bottle, can get a bottle for the price of a glass! But the atmosphere and service made up for it), which I had another two (including a barman's nip, which equated to about a full glass! Service!) and enjoyed a PLPC to finish.

A nice civilised way to finish a tough week at work!
