.............................. actually I thought I would post the details now. Here is a round-up of all the information for the UKCF Event on Wednesday.
At the latest count we have 28 attending (this includes 3 guests) - another 4 are 'possibles'.
The address is: Dunhill Tobacco of London, 1a St. James's Street, London SW1A 1EF (Tel: 020 7839 6795)
You will find us on the corner of St. James's Street and Pall Mall. We are less than 5 minutes walk from Green Park Tube.
There is limited metered parking by the shop - but ample in St. James's Square nearby.
The Event starts 6pm - 6.30pm and will finish at 9pm.
There is no dress code.
We are open from 11am, so you are welcome to arrive at any time (but you might be asked to help move furniture around 5pm!!). Actually if you have not been to the shop before it would be good to see things before we move everything for the Event - it really is a great Lounge area.
We will be smoking the: Diplomaticos No.3. from 2001 - this aged Havana is well known to members. The second cigar is the new Dunhill 1907 Robusto (5 x 52). We had the international launch of this cigar in the shop in May. 'Handcrafted by artisans in Santiago, Dominican Republic, 1907 by Dunhill is made with a proprietary blend of Dominican ligeros and Brazilian Mata Fina, bound with Dominican Olor and wrapped in a dark Honduran Olancho leaf. The new Dunhill delivers complex flavour with nuances of spice and a rich creamy finish.'
We have printed a special UKCF band for the Dunhill 1907 (incorporated into the original band). If you enjoy the cigar, or want one for your collection there will be about twenty spare at a special price.
There will be Berry Brothers & Rudd Red and White wines plus some light bites / snacks.
While you are here don't miss our Humidor Room and Master Blenders Room.
As a reminder this is a Sampling Event and to comply with legislation only the cigars available at the Event can be smoked.
I have not organised anything regarding photography - but feel free to take and post any photos.
Of course I would not be doing my job if I did not mention we are very much open for business during the Event, if you wish to make a purchase and we have a number of other Events coming up in September and October.
If anyone has not registered to come yet just let me know before 5pm on Wednesday and you will be very welcome.
In the meantime I look forward to seeing everyone on Wednesday.I'm sure there are greater things in life than a fine cigar ........... but right now I can't think what they might be.
