It's traditional at one's first herf to wear Bermuda shorts, a Hawaiian shirt and a polka dot bow tie. Bowler hat is left at your discretion, but looked favourably upon...

If I weren't feeling mischievous, as I always seem to have too much energy when I've been up for three hours this early... There's never too much of a dress code for these type of events - weekday evening cigar herfs in London often have a good proportion who are suited and booted, but largely as they've come from work. A shirt and smart jeans is just as acceptable though. (Whisper it quietly, but I've even seen people in t-shirts at these things... Yes, I know! Heavens above!)
