Hey guys hope you are all well. Thought id post up a thread to see what sort of interest there would be on a herf at the new cigar lounge in Newcastle Cuban cigar club shop.
Some of you may be aware that the shop has been planning on developing a lounge since it first opened it doors well im now pleased to say it is very near completion should be finished for the first week in december they are 95% certain of this. So a bunch of us Mackems have arranged a meet up to herf there on Saturday 17th December i know its probably going to be too short notice for some and with xmas coming up maybe difficult but it would be great to put some faces to some of the names on the forum.
I found time on Saturday to visit the shop and speak to Justin the store manager regarding a group herf they a really up for this and would look forward to it but they feel at the moment they would prefer us BOTL to buy the cigars in the shop and smoke them in the lounge which considering the variety they have in the walk in humi not a problem as this is how we have known it work at the likes of jjfox ect, this may change in future but bare in mind they are a new shop and are still finding their feet as to the best way to operate the lounge as its all new to them.
They will happily however allow herfers to bring there own alcohol maybe a tiny corkage charge could be made of a cuple of pounds but they would prefer it if the alcohol was kept to wines and spirits although bottled ale was mentioned and will possibly be an option they do have a point in this as they just dont want everyone turning up with a 4/6 pack of lager under there arm. They will be offering refreshments within the lounge soft drinks, coffee ect..
As long as the lounge is finished and ready to go by first week in december we are planning the herf for December 17th
Also another thing to note is that they are planning on having a launch party to celebrate the opening of the lounge hopefully Justin (store manager) will pop in on this thread and elaborate more when they know how they are going to play it.
Its a great shop they have going on plenty of variety in CC/NC and aged stock all available as singles too.
Newcastle is a great city too great place to hit the bars/pubs/shops/ restaurants ect..
