I'm going to be in Edinburgh for a few days at the end of this week. Was wondering if anyone up in that general direction has any recommendations for herfing spots (beyond the HdV), and if anyone was available for a mini-herf at some stage? (Can't make Thursday evening though, as I've booked tickets to see a couple of comedians whilst I'm up in the city).

I was in the city on Saturday with friends to catch a couple gigs at the Festival and it struck me that some of the temporary bars would be ideal for a herf.
The one at the Udderbelly was pretty good but the one at the Pleasance would be ideal. There's at least 3 bars there that I saw and the further you venture into the complex you'll find better seating and covered areas.
They all have an excellent selection of drinks too.
