After a world-beating oven-roasted piece of 21 day Aberdeen Angus rib-eye (bloomin' awesome) accompanied by pan-fried gnocchi (also bloomin' awesome) and a few dirty mojito's, I retired to the garden for a nice short smoke; a Davidoff Entreacto. A brief review:
A delightfully short NC (3.5" x 43r) that was just ideal for the time window available - pre-draw gave me dark chocolate and mint (bizarre - and confirmed by my wife) and it lit perfectly...medium draw, with lots of wood aromas for the first inch (a tad bitter) but surprisingly little smoke. The second inch opened up into caramel and dark coffee with luscious amounts of smoke. I was careful not to 'oversmoke' and limit the speed and depth of my 'draws' - It only ashed once at around the half-way mark and the ash was strong and grey...burn was even throught. The third inch developed the mocha-coffee theme further and when the nub was too short to hold, I reluctantly consigned it to the ashtray.
Overall, this is a good cigar; ideally suited to a time-window of around 30 minutes, and for such a short stick, welcome transitions in flavours and aromas...I've got a few more in the humi and look forward to the next outing.
Steve
