Had a J. Fuego Gran Reserva Corojo No. 1 cigar after lunch, it was ok but nothing special. Would like to try something from the 777 line to see if that's more to my taste.
Not sure why but I tend to have these phases where I like to try a few NC's that I haven't had yet. Never seem to find too many that I like but it's always fun to try. Still looking for a Tatuaje and a RP Decade.

    Cheers.

Despite being off work a very busy day today, by the time I settled down for a smoke it was virtually dark outside. As I didn't fancy sitting outside in the dark I decided a very short smoke was the order and I wasnt going to waste anything decent.

Cut a Gurkha Park avenue in half and smoked it for about 15 mins with a glass of chianti. Definately one to file under 'why did I but these cigars?', very little flavour and just not very exciting, I simply fell for the cheap priceteg all those months ago!

Oh well, will make sure I get more time to smoke something better tomorrow, hopefully listening to the cricket.

Had an '05 Rafael Gonzalez Corona Extra on the terrace at Boisdale Canary Wharf after a decent enough lunch. Be warned, they're mis-priced on the menu (?18, not ?10.50), but they are 2005 sticks (listed as 2008). Very nice smoke, wish I'd had an extra ten minutes to properly finish it, but was pretty damn close. I made copious notes, so will be putting up a review over the weekend (as well as something on Boisdale CW).

I also finally tried some Highland Park 12yo... All I can say is that it really deserves all the praise it gets. It's not quite jumped to the top of my favourite whiskies list, but it has sneaked into the top three. As close to a perfect single-malt to drink with a cigar as you are likely to find.
