I have just polished of a lovely RyJ Short Churchill. Was supposed to be the birthday cigar but i thought i would have a few days early as it was nice and cool in the garden. Was a delightfully easy smoke for this newb, was very creamy from the off and ended with some slight pepper on the lips. Started to rain near the end but i stuck with it and smoked it into oblivion.

glad to hear you had such a great smoke Pleevy, sure sounds like your in danger of falling hard for the Havana experience.

You could say that Simon. Still savouring the aftertaste of that RyJ as we speak, even after dinner. Did your Short Churchill get a bit of sideburn at all mothman? Wasnt sure if they did that or if it had anything to do with me being a bit over zealous puffing away?

Rafael Gonzalez Petit Coronas and a pint of Doombar. Delicious! A really great smoke.

Pleevy, never had a problem with the draw, burn or flav of the R&J SC, these are known for their remarkable consistancy 7 well worth getting to know. Where you smoking outside?
Pauldrums81, The RG brand is possibly the most under rated Cuban brand IMHO. I have had a duff lonsdale but in general they are a fine smoke, plently of flav & lets be frank, damn good value. Recommend the Panatela Extra, used to be real cheap but creeping up a bit now. Keep these a couple of yrs & they are a great outdoor smoke Becoming rarer now, the Slenderelles 6 7/8 x 28, is a real delight & worth keeping your eyes open for.

I would never really have thought to buy RGs but one of the staff at JJ Fox recommended it to me and I've enjoyed each one so far. I will certainly try to pick up the other vitolas you've mentioned.

Simon, Yes i was out in the garden, it did actually start to get a bit windy towards the end so maybe that had something to do with it. It was fine most of the way then just as mothman has said, the last third went a bit sideways. No biggie though, i thoroughly enjoyed every second of it. It will definitely be one i will come back to
