  • Tuesday 8th February 2011.

Starting of the day with a San Cristobal El Principe and some nice strong black coffee.

The SC have replaced my normal JL PC as a morning smoke, and although I have enjoyed them I have had a couple which have had a really tight draw.

Still a lovely little cigar when you get a good one.

Didn't smoke it today, but can't be bothered to start a thread for yesterday...

Enjoyed a cheeky little HdM Le Hoyo du Maire, kindly gifted at the start of the winter by tippexx. It had a bloody strange burn (likely from my storage of it), but it wasn't a half bad little cigar, none of the roughness you might expect from such a tiny stick.

        Hard life.

Finished the day off with a well deserved R&J Escudos and a couple of Mojitos. Nice.

My first real cigar in ages. Tried the Royal Jamaican Churchill. Lit nicely but didn't draw that well for the first inch or so. Burnt very uneven. Felt very dry to the touch. A bit tasteless in the first third. Middle third was so much better, nice smooth taste and drew nicely. Last third tasted devine, lovely draw, was a shame to put it down. Took a tad over 2 hrs to finish it. But was good to have a chat with mates whilst enjoying the taste.
I started it as I left to go to my mates place for Tues drinks (non alcoholic for me). Got some strange looks whilst driving across Bristol in my battered old Landrover with almost 8" of cigar on the go.
Glad I persevered with it. I was tempted to ditch it when it started so badly
