Small smoke this morning RyJ R No1. that'll keep me going 'til after the roast, for which, with friends, I plan a SCdLH Muralla followed by an aged Monty 2 with loads of drinkies...... I lurve Sundays.
Ages Monty 2, lucky sod. The Muralla always looks better than it smokes to me but I must re-visit. The RyJ No1 escapes my memory at the mo.
I intend to smoke this evening. Not sure what yet.
"In Italy for 30 years under the Borgias they had warfare, terror, murder and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, and the Renaissance. In Switzerland they had brotherly love, they had 500 years of democracy and peace, and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock!"

Remember way back, (not so far back actually), when the Cohiba Esplendidos was the most celibrated & faked cigar in the world? In the days before LE's & RE's & ?65-100 cigars, Esplendidos was the bees knees & much of the critisim & disappointment that was reported, was due to the flooded market of fakes. Which became very close to the real thing but never as good.
When I finally caught my first twenty pound pike, a simple target that had taken on Moby Dick'sque type obssession, with a large range of top smokes in my humis; it was my last & final Esplen' that I took down the cafe, to truely do justice to such a day and it rose up & matched it with every minute of the 90mins it took to comsume it.
I know not everyone apprecaites the Cohiba profile but compared with the price of more recent Havanas, perhaps it's worth revisiting for those who haven't had one lately.
I have just this afternoon been writing down cigars to look out for in Havana (going next month) & I hadn't thought of these but thanks to Bigbarney for reminding me, they are on the list now. Along with a cab of 50 Boli CG's
Simon Bolivar: Liberator of Bolivia, Ecuador, Peru & Venezuela.
Right on Simon. I've never been a fan of the cohiba robusto, I guess that's probably up at the top of the fakes now? they seem to lack the main cohiba profile. Can't say I've ever had a badly made cohiba though. Not like every other Cuban brand.
