Not sure whether this still counts as Sunday but just finished off a great day with an Upman Magnum 50. It was a first for me so I only bought the odd one but I will be definately back again. A bit lighter in flavour than my usual smokes but I had been at the Rumfest event in London earlier. Having slightly over indulged, I reckoned it would be just the ticket. A great cigar!

I have had my cup of tea and I'm off to bed!

Ooooh Rum Fest review please, I was so tempted, but knew I would probably have ended up in an intensive care unit.

Rumfest was great. Paid ?15 for advance on line ticket. In a relatively small space at Olympia that looked a bit lacking in atmosphere on entry but soon sucked in by the individual stands and bars.

The best bar was the Mount Gay bar - the cocktails here blew the socks off everyone else. The Havana Club bar probably had the best vibe but it was small like every other bar and difficult to linger. Rums ... my favourites were Diplomatico Gran Reserva, Zacapa XO, Goslings not the usual presentation but a version served from a champagne magnum.

Good value as include in the entry were 5 Rum vouchers and a cocktail voucher. Highly recommended and that's without talking about the dancing girls!

        Dancing girls...

As for today... I spent my usual lazy Monday afternoon with a cigar smoking a La Aurora Aurora Rothschild. Not a bad cigar at all - it's 4" x 50 and lasted around 45-50 minutes. Alongside the La Aurora Preferidos (see discussion in the thread about Pandy's honeymoon), this line should be released in the UK soon, and will be cheaper than Charatans .

More of a 'what I'm about to have' reply:

Recovering from jet lag - figured I'd wrap up, put the heater on and have a good cigar later tonight, but having not had any for 6 weeks (!!) for one reason or another, I've got 3 moved out of their boxes onto the singles shelf to ponder which:

          Cohiba Robusto
          Cohiba Siglo VI
          Partagas SD no.4

Leaning towards the Party, as not had one of those yet.

          Decisions, decisions...

just worked my way through a NC cigar!! had a carlos torano casa torano robusto which was gifted by shuckins in a recent bomb i have to say i enjoyed this stick which was mild to medium in strength it had a seemingly toasty flavour and left an overwhelming nutty aftertaste which remained consistant throughout the draw and burn on this cigar was excellent all the way through i would say this is a good beginner cigar to introduce a novice too but with enough flavour to satisfy the seasoned smoker

About to sit down with a cigar. Can't decide between a RASS, Monte 4 or Hoyo Double Corona. I'll let you know what I decide.

                      Decided...

Treating myself to a 2002 Hoyo Double Corona.

                      Glass of cider to accompany.

                      Yummy.

Forgot to say, whilst ordering my beer to go with the cigar, I spotted someone eyeing up my little cigar pouch. Rather odd I though. Went outside and sat down, chatting to my herf partner, and a couple of old guys on the next table (who were rather complimentary about the aroma), and spotted aforementioned guy smoking a cigar. (Didn't get the chance to chat as we were deep in conversation, but he seemed to ring a bell - I may have spotted him last week at our real ale society meeting - good news for me as the Cigar and Spirits Officer... )

monte 5: tried it for the 1st time and didnt like it, found it to be bland. Usually i smoke cigars i like until i get finger burn but I threw this one away with a good 1/3 still remaining
