I believe this falls in line with what MRN, among others, talk about as the sick period. Although I dont have the book. I recently read a discussion about how modern tobacco strains may behave or are blended in a way that makes fresh CC more approachable freshly rolled. Perhaps they still go through a maturation after some months that needs time to pass, like the sick period. I dont tend to smoke CC until they are at least 3-5 years usually! Unless I buy from a sampling lounge and often I've found I've not liked fresher cigars. So thats my scientific evidence

Certain vitolas, like the N6 are blended with Nicaraguan tobacco. But not all.
