Having an especial no.1 this afternoon. Taking the afternoon to watch Englands first world cup game.

Bit tight at the moment. Hopefully it opens up.

        Unfortunately mine got worse
Not much smoke production. One of those sticks a perfect draw wont help because it just busts the wrapper.

My father, le bijou 1922, already smashed off a magnum 50, but I’m sure everyone’s seen enough pictures of me enjoying my favourite summer cigar so no pic today lol😉😶‍🌫️😎

As Neil mentioned, we smoked a pair of JL Selection No1's. Neither of us realised how recently these came into being, in the '90's, & on the same page, the sad reminder, that the JL PC has been deleted. Gonna have to eek out my 2001's even longer now.

Anyway, started off with a very generous. Fixed grill, cooked to perfection. And after a suitable pause the No1's.

I bought 10 of these from Stevie & so must thank him again, coz they were amazing! And at only 1yo.

I guess you all know by now I rarely smoke any Havana under 3yrs old, as they just don't suit my palate. But these don't need any further ageing & indeed, aren't likely to get the chance. I also rarely smoke more that 2-3 of any particular vitola in a year but I think I may make an exception for these, I really wouldn't want these to mellow, we agreed 90pts was a fair score.

Only fault I had to re-light a few times but I did last 10more mins than Neil, for once.

Interestingly, there's talk of how changes to the blends have been made to make fresh cigars more approachable. Have you noticed that since about 2019 CC are a lot more approachable fresh? I'd always assumed that fresh CC sick period was down to moistening the leaves for rolling hence needing time to dry out and settling down. Who knows!?
