All depends on the source. The old bands were less perfect, but these are pretty badly cut you're right.

used to get a lot with additional squares above but should be 3 rows of whole squares and no cut off by the gold border around COHIBA

Went to my old cohibas box to have a looksee. None cut off squares at the bottom of the black edge.

No, it's from a box of Fauxhibas that have all been good smokes.

Glad to hear it mate, I was gifted some, cut one open and it was short filler nonsense that I could never bring myself to smoke.
