Monte Nicaragua 1935, one of the most highly rated cigars of last year, no 2 on CA and 9 on Halfwheel's Consensus. It was very good, rich dark flavours with pepper spice and some sweetness and great construction.

How do you find the S cut?

I love their v but don’t know if could be bothered to lug that weight in a straight cut

I’ve got the SV but wish I just got the V.

Aside from the fact it’s too thick and heavy to fit in your pocket comfortably as I mainly smoke at home the S cut isn’t particularly good for a few reasons.

It’s almost impossible to see how much of the cap you’re cutting and at what angle.
Removing the cap and any loose tobacco from behind the blade isn’t easy
Most annoyingly the S cutter blades are designed in a way that they leave a slightly raised ridge along the head of the cigar once cut.

The V on the other hand is very good as Im sure you know.

It's fine for a straight cutter but nothing special, this was a gift and I've had it years so can't complain. I usually go for a punch or v cutter now but the cap was damaged so I went with a straight cut. Never noticed the weight as I never take it out.
